Update on the proposed closure of Honeywell

Today at First Minister’s Questions, I raised concerns about the proposed closure of Honeywell and the impact this could have on manufacturing jobs, workers and communities across Motherwell and Wishaw and neighbouring areas.

I asked the First Minister for an update on engagement with the UK Government and stressed the importance of both governments working together on a shared industrial strategy to protect jobs, retain valuable skills and support the future of Scottish manufacturing.

With key economic powers held by the UK Government, it is vital that they work with the Scottish Government and industry to ensure our manufacturing communities are not left behind.
